PaceTrack is a step tracker for iPhone. It reads your activity from Apple Health, keeps it on your device, and shows you today at a glance.

It says there are no steps yet

PaceTrack can only show what Apple Health will give it. Open Health › Sharing › Apps › PaceTrack and make sure Steps is turned on.

Apple deliberately does not tell an app when a read has been refused — a refused read looks exactly like a day with no steps recorded — which is why the app suggests checking rather than telling you it was denied.

The numbers don't match the Health app

PaceTrack shows steps recorded from midnight until now, in your current time zone, exactly as Apple Health reports them. If you carry an iPhone and wear an Apple Watch, Health merges the two and removes duplicates, so the combined figure is the one PaceTrack shows.

Travelling across time zones can also shift where "midnight" falls.

My widget is out of date

Widgets show the last figures the app itself saw. Open PaceTrack and the widget catches up within a few moments. A widget that has not updated in a while shows an "as of" time so it never quietly presents an old number as current.

I bought Remove Ads but still see ads

Open Settings › Restore Purchase inside the app. Purchases are tied to the Apple Account that bought them, so check you are signed in with the same one.

Remove Ads is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is nothing to cancel and it will not renew.

How do I change my daily goal?

Settings, reachable from the gear in the top right. Anywhere from 1,000 to 50,000 steps. Changing it re-scores your history immediately, so raising your goal can shorten a streak you had already earned.

Light and dark mode

Settings › Appearance. System follows your iPhone; Light and Dark override it. Widgets always follow the system.
